Christmas Dress In Europe

Because the peak of Christmas shopping is usually two weeks before the holidays, European retailers worry that they have no time to make up for the loss of bad weather.

Analysts believe that sales of low gross margin, non food and CD, books and other gifts have been hit most.

Synovate, a market research firm, said that heavy snow before Christmas last Sunday meant that the number of consumers entering stores decreased by nearly 1/4 compared with the same period last year.

Synovate analyst TimDenison said, "retailers had planned to make up for the losses in the recent period, but successive bad weather once again caused a brutal blow to the retail industry."

As the extreme weather in the near future still can not improve, many companies have heard the Christmas sales profit warning.

Alexon, a British clothing retailer, owns 990 stores in the UK and Europe. The company has warned that its sales have dropped by more than 20% in the past three weeks.

With the news, the company's share price fell 1/5.
